Work on the new bathing lagoon in Laugarás is moving forward smoothly. The exterior walls of the bathhouse and service building are currently being erected, and the next phase will involve landscaping the area for the lagoon and laying the foundations.
The lagoon has been designed with a focus on offering a diverse and immersive experience for visitors. Guests can enjoy a range of amenities, including hot and cold bathing areas, a sauna, relaxation spaces, and on-site dining. The lagoon will feature multiple levels, allowing visitors to descend from the upper pool to the lower pool through a unique passage under the water’s surface, emerging through a small waterfall into the lower pool.
The opening is scheduled for summer 2025.
The architects for the project are T.ARK, with engineering by Efla, and Hildiberg overseeing the lighting design. Project management is led by Þórunn Arnardóttir.
